Fighting to save creative industries in Bury
One of my constituents is Sally Williams, who runs a textile business from Bury Crafts in the centre of Bury. She, along with others in the creative industries, are threatened with eviction by the Council, who are renovating the building. One man in real danger of losing his livelihood is Nick Potts, who runs a jewellery making and silversmith business. He has recently invested over £20,000 in equipment which he now has to move out of the building. Lib Dems are leading the fight to give these businesses more time to find alternative accommodation, or to have them accommodated in the building they are in during its refurbishment.
